Mansi moved to England from Mumbai, India about 20 years ago. The basis of Mansi’s practice is deeply grounded in a profound connection to nature, Mansi draws on her innate ability to connect deeply with nature, while collaborating with it. Her endeavour is to share the immense delight she experiences while being immersed in and interacting with nature. Her work focuses specifically on urban nature, enhanced by her own lived experience of existing in an urban environment. Drawing on research related to concepts such as nature connectedness and urban ecology, she uses methodologies ranging from walking, foraging, the use of alchemy, installation, sculpture, writing, gardening, and workshops.Â
Her intent is to use awe to elicit inquisitiveness, amazement, reflection, and connection towards nature. It is important for her to continue to engage with issues of ecological relevance and to do so in soft and gentle ways while evoking feelings of wonder and joy.
