Join us for this FREE artist talk with Svetlana Atlavina as she presents:ย A Delicate Determination to Continue My Story as an Artist and Write Its Chronicle.

Discussing how endurance is a significant part of her career strategy as an artist, Svetlana will present her ACE funded projectย Clay and Augmented Realityย for [c]CC Free Art Summer School on Tuesday, 22 July at 5:30pm GMT. Tickets are free, but advance booking is necessary to secure a place.
Svetlana Atlavina is a mixed-media artist whose practice explores the delicate balance between the tangible and intangible. Rooted in memory โ especially childhood memory โ her work invites reflection on how personal histories shape perception. Svetlanaโs practice moves between embodied making and weightless spaces of thought, forming a dialogue between the seen and the sensed. The Clay and Augmented Reality, project focused on developing a series of immersive techniques for a series of post-covid art workshops led by Svetlana.ย Her research involved how to combine working processes using clay and ARย to find ways to evoke images from the subconscious.ย

Latvian born, Svetlana has lived in the UK for the past 20+ years. With a Master’s in Printmaking from the Cambridge School of Art, she combines traditional techniques with emerging technologies. She explores social issues deeply rooted within our psychological being. Her art research connects to the visualisation of art processes, empathy, controversial issues, and the role of women in society. Svetlana has led numerous art workshops, in a variety of contexts, including for the NHS and for the charity Women in Prison, and has lectured on participatory practice and socially engaged practice at Buckinghamshire New University.
