Will’s talk will focus on the public facing and participatory elements of his on-going practice-based research into online conspiracy theory communities. His work – which uses photography, text, sculpture, animation and participatory workshops – focusses on the creative and collaborative world-building practices of these online communities and invites exhibition visitors and workshop participants to engage with the subject through both individual interpretive efforts and collective critical making.

Will Laiken is a multimedia artist and post-graduate research student studying at London College of Communication working on a practice-based project around the storytelling practices of online conspiracy theory communities. He has taught at a number of universities and he is currently a lecturer on the Communications and Media programme at LCC. His work has been exhibited in group and solo shows and in photo festivals across Europe, and he has given artist talks and lectures at numerous public events and conferences, such as FORMAT Photography Festival, on his practice.
