[cloud] is very pleased to announce Virga Press, an imprint for criticality in the visual arts.
Critical thinking is what we do best at [cloud]. So, we feel it only makes sense to create an imprint for publishing critical texts on visual art. We want to support academics looking for a publisher who will work with them as they explore new areas of research, or independent researchers, artists, and curators who want to expand their practice with published works.
Likewise, we recognise that not all research is in published form, but presented in conferences. We extend our welcome to conference organisers in the visual arts who wish to publish conference proceedings. We will support you in assisting your contributors to convert their conference paper into a publishable text.
If you have an idea for a publication, we want to hear about it!
What to send:
Send us a synopsis of the book theme or share a chapter of a completed manuscript, along with a table of contents or list of chapters. Tell us about the theoretical framework used to contextualise the thesis. These are the main authors, thinkers, or theories you’ve used to develop your own thinking and the conclusions you’ve reached through researching and writing the text. Tell us about the imagery, if any, that will be in the book. Do you have a budget and/or funding for the the publication of the book? Do you have a deadline?
Use our contact form or email us at cloud_info@cloud-collective.net
